Doc and I played in jazz and later rock bands in the very early 1970s. He was always the consumate drummer. I was so sorry to learn that he's gone that that we never re-connected.

I knew Doc from Iron Tender. I was just a kid when I worked there but I remember him as a guy who even then had some words of wisdom that I have never forgotten. What a nice guy! My sincere condolences to his wife.

Like many of the others I too was in the BA band with Doc and Karl. Many good memories of those times and all memories of Doc are so pleasant. I had the privilege of speaking to him on the phone just a few months ago. Still the same sweet guy. Doc will be missed by many.

Doc was the kind of person who left an impression on everybody he met. I admire him greatly, and recognize positive attributes in him that admirable men have. He was as personable and affable as he was honorable, dependable, brave and generous. I love Doc, and I am sorry he is gone, but I am happy he is with his boys and my Dad. I will cherish my memories of him as long as I live.

Beautiful obituary. He had a generous heart, and quick wit, and was very personable. People who were close to him felt proud and honored to know him personally. I love him and I am very sad that he is gone, but very happy he is with his boys and my Dad.

Terry, I was so sad to hear of Doc's passing. It has been a rough year but please know that you have friends who understand and care. Time won't take away the pain of loss but it will bring back the good memories and a smile now and then. Take care.

It's hard to understand why people are taken from us. When God calls us home, he leaves us a gift of memories in exchange. I have great memories of Doc when we worked at the Iron Tender Restaurant. Doc was a very special person. May he rest in peace. My prayers are with the family. God bless.

Losing Doc leaves a void in many of our lives. I knew Doc from the time he was at Bel Air, on to UTEP and then visited many of the restaurants he worked at. Even during the darkest times in his life, he was an inspiration and an encourager. I thought Doc's BBQ was the best. I always looked forward to seeing him and now look forward to seeing him when I get called home to be with the Lord. The Lord bless you Teresa. May He fill you with His peace and comfort.

I was so saddened at hearing from Zoomer Roberts today that Doc had passed. I've been gone from El Paso four years now and I'm sorry to miss Doc's funeral. I remember our years of friendship and our partnership in Doc's Barbeque with fondness. Though it is many years since I've seen Terry, and Doc's brothers and sister, I wish them comfort in their sorrow and send my sympathy at this time this of terrible loss. Doc was a great guy and my memories of him from when we were all young together, will always be positive and sweet.
