AURORA LEWELS

Aurora Elena (Cisneros) Lewels passed away at age 95 peacefully on Monday morning, June 20th. She was born in El Paso on December 29, 1915 and was a lifelong resident. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Aurora Cisneros, her husband Francisco J. (Joe) Lewels, Sr., by her sister Refugio (Cuca) Flores of Chihuahua, Mexico, by her brother Vicente Cisneros of Mexico City and her grandson, Nicholas Lewels of El Paso. Her family arrived in El Paso during the Mexican Revolution and resided in Sunset Heights where they attended the Holy Family Catholic Church where she was married in December 1940. In the 1950s the family became members of Hillside Bible Presbyterian Church, where her husband served as a deacon and church elder. Left to cherish her memory as a loving mother, grandmother, (Marr) and great grandmother are her daughter and son in law, Helen and Albert Eddings of El Paso, her son and daughter in law, Joe and Hilda Lewels of El Paso, and her son and daughter in law, David and Margaret Lewels of Houston. Her grandchildren are Albert Eddings, Jr. and wife Christie of El Paso, Pete Eddings of El Paso, Joe Eddings and wife Shay of Austin, Christopher Lewels of El Paso, Marisa Lewels of Los Angeles, and Heather (Lewels) Tayem and husband James of Houston, TX. Her great grandchildren include Courtland Eddings, a student in Savannah, GA., Nicole Eddings and Natalie Eddings of Austin, TX. Extended family grandchildren, Farin Castillo and Jordyn Chavez. Rite of Committal will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Evergreen East Cemetery. Services directed by Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina.
