BENJAMIN STOLTZMAN Obituary

Benjamin Daniel Stoltzman passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016, after a courageous battle against Alzheimer's Disease. Forever young in spirit, he loved his family and friends and devoted his time to helping them with whatever they needed. No job was to little or to big for him to tackle as he could work for hours on end at a project. Ben had a passion for tennis, an avid player who hit the courts weekly and an even greater interest in his home and garden that was always in pristine condition. Ben was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, living his younger life in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and attended the Art Institute of Chicago where he went on to design for Morton Salt and Quaker Oats. He was in the Army before moving to El Paso to work 25 years with KLAQ Radio. El Paso became his permanent home when he married Nancy Cottle and they had two children and three grandchildren. Ben was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Birran Stoltzman, father, Benjamin Daniel Stoltzman and brother in law, Bill Richter. Ben is survived by, son Ted and wife Molly, daughter Stacy and grandchildren Pierce, Lena and Hollis, sister Jeanne Stoltzman Richter and nephew Jeffrey W. Richter and wife Eleanor. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association of El Paso or any other organization of your choice. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Martin Funeral Home West 128 N. Resler Dr. El Paso, TX 79912. A viewing will precede the service starting at 10:00 AM.

Ben Stoltzman was a class act from head to toe. Speaking with him, you had to be careful -- Ben's wit was so easy and dry, you might miss the humorous pearl he'd throw in at some point in nearly every conversation; something that could keep you smiling the rest of the day if you caught it. But his smile? You never had to dig to find that -- it was always there. It still is.
