May 3, 1931 - October 10, 2020

Cruz D. Valles, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 10, 2020, in El Paso, Texas. Born in Allamoore, Texas on May 3, 1931, to the late Eduardo and Maria Angela Valles. Cruz was preceded in death by his brothers, Teodoro Valles, Remigio Valles, Eduardo Valles and Juan D. Valles, sisters, Manuela Perez, Guadalupe de la Rosa and Cruz Juarez. He was a proud Army Veteran stationed in Alaska during the Korean War and retired after 30 years of Civil Service as a meat cutter.

Cruz was the foundation of our family and valued spending time with loved ones. He was the #1 fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved the horse races at Sunland Park. He was an amazing son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will always be missed.

He is survived by his spouse of 64 years: Refugio N. Valles (Carmen); their six children: Gloria Gonzalez, Cruz (Amanda) Valles Jr., Elizabeth (Jesus) Nevarez, Richard (Rachel) Valles, Cecilia (Adrian) Montoya, Susan (Gabriel) Corral; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother: Apolinar D. Valles.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a vigil at 7:00 pm. Rite of Committal will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Cruz Valles Jr., Richard Valles, Jesus Nevarez Jr., Richard Puente, Russell Montoya and Christopher Montoya.




Cruz D. Valles, de 89 años, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar el sábado 10 de octubre del 2020 en El Paso, Texas. Nacido en Alamoore, Texas, el 3 de mayo de 1931, fue hijo de Eduardo y María Ángela Valles. A Cruz le antecedieron en muerte sus hermanos: Teodoro Valles, Remigio Valles, Eduardo Valles y Juan D. Valles, y sus hermanas: Manuela Pérez, Guadalupe de la Rosa y Cruz Juárez. Era un orgulloso Veterano del Ejército y estuvo asignado en Alaska durante la Guerra de Corea y se retiró después de 30 años de servicio civil como cortador de carne. Cruz fue la base de nuestra familia y valoraba pasar tiempo con sus seres queridos. Era el fan número uno de los Dallas Cowboys y amaba las carreras de caballos en Sunland Park. Fue un increíble hijo, esposo, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo y amigo y siempre lo echaremos de menos. Le sobrevive su esposa por 64 años, Refugio N. Valles (Carmen); sus seis hijos: Gloria González, Cruz (Amanda) Valles Jr., Elizabeth (Jesús) Nevarez, Richard (Rachel) Valles, Cecilia (Adrián) Montoya, Susan (Gabriel) Corral, sus 16 nietos, 17 bisnietos y su hermano Apolinar D. Valles. El velorio se llevará a cabo de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. el lunes 19 de octubre del 2020 en Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina con la vigilia a las 7:00 p.m. El Rito de Compromiso se llevará a cabo a las 10:30 a.m. el martes 20 de octubre del 2020 en el cementerio nacional de Fort Bliss con honores militares. Los portadores del féretro serán Cruz Valles Jr., Richard Valles, Jesús Nevarez Jr., Richard Puente, Russell Montoya y Christopher Montoya.
