Denise Groesbeck Memoriam

Denise Elaine Groesbeck (formerly Dobi) passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 after a year-long battle with cancer. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee Illinois, serving as an Eucharistic minister and initiating a prayer shawl group providing for the sick and elderly. She was a kind, caring, and giving person. Denise was an accomplished quilter and highly skilled in crafts. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island on June 30, 1958. Denise graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in educational psychology. Denise is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mike Groesbeck; son Brad Groesbeck; daughter-in-law Meg Groesbeck; grandson Simon Michael Groesbeck; mother Gladys Bentley; sisters Cheryl Arrasmith, Gail Hug, and Lorri Burnett; brothers Stephen and Kevin Dobi; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place at St Pius X Catholic Church in El Paso at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 10, followed by burial at Evergreen East Cemetery at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow at La Terraza East restaurant beginning at 2:00 PM.

My heart and prayers go out to Denise's family for their loss. May you find Gods comfort through prayer during this difficult time.

Jeremiah 29: 11-14 “‘For I myself well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward YOU,' is the utterance of Jehovah, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give YOU a future and a hope. And YOU will certainly call me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to YOU.' “‘And YOU will actually seek me and find [me], for YOU will search for me with all YOUR heart. And I will let myself be found by YOU…”

God will comfort those who look for him through prayer.
