Elda Montes Obituary
El Paso - Elda B. Montes passed away October 13, 2020 at the age of 91. Elda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Edmundo and son Victor. She is survived by her children Edmundo "Sonny" Montes (Rowena), Lindy Herrera (Victor), Roger Montes (Irma). Grandchildren Anthony, Christina, and Sunny Annette Montes, Victor Montes Jr, Victor and Nick Herrera, Aharon and Noah Montes, Jackie Mikhalevich, and Brittany Willis , 9 great-grandchildren and two other great grandchildren on the way. We would like to thank our mother's family and friends for all the love and support that was given to her. A special thank you to Maria "Cuca" Gonzalez for always being there for her, you were more of a sister than a cousin.
Visitation will be held Wednesday October 21, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Rosary at 7 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano St.

Our deepest condolences to the Montes and Herrera Families on the passing of Tia Elda. My last visit with her will be a treasured memory I will carry always. Her smile lit up the room and her twinkling eyes just made you smile back. Once, she shared her family gallery wall in her bedroom and she was so proud and happy to tell me everyone's name and age. Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. I pray they will help you as well. She's at rest now, God Bless you all

Condolences to the Montes family. Ms. Montes was a great lady and a wonderful neighbor of mine for over 25 years. One of my favorite memories of Ms. Montes was when Ms. Montes, my Mom, Lencha, and my sister, Ceci, would go to church on Sundays and the Village Inn for breakfast. Now they can resume their Sunday routine in heaven. Rest in peace, Ms. Montes.

My sincere condolences to the Montes family on the passing of your dear mother. She was our neighbor for almost 60 years and I will truly miss her. The way she smiled and how she would look at me with those sparkling eyes will remain with me forever. I can remember how the Montes family would come by to make tamales on Christmas. I can remember when she made frijoles rancheros she would use those yellow chiles from a jar that would give such a good taste. I remember all those years she would sit up front and watch all of us go by and give a wave and a blessing. Most of all, she represented the strongest symbol of familia and this will be how I keep her in my heart. May our Good Lord hold her in his hands and give peace to you all during this difficult time.
