Felicitas VALDEZ Obituary

Felicitas Valdez, 79 passed away peacefully on July 30, 2013 surrounded by loving family members. Felicitas was a retired Social Studies teacher in the Ysleta District, where she taught for 17 years. Mrs. Valdez was preceded in death by her father, Ponciano Castro, mother Antonia Castro, and brother Nicholas Castro. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Nolan (Robert), Rosa Maria Titus, and son Joe Valdez (Ruth), sisters Gregoria Castro, and Alicia Legarretta. Felicitas is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. Felicitas was an active member of the Democratic Party in El Paso during the 1970?s. Her many contributions to the city of El Paso, garnered her the award of Mujer Obrera in 1985 among other awards and recognitions. Felicita's wit and personality will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday August 2, 2013 from 5-9pm with Rosary Service at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday August 3, 2013 at 9:30 am at Little Flower Catholic Church 171 Polo Inn Road. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services are under the direction of CRESTVIEW FUNERAL HOME 1462 N. Zaragosa 856-1400
