Glenna Kieffe Obituary

Retired U.S. Customs Glenna Darlene "Johnnie" Kieffe, 71, peacefully passed away in El Paso, Texas on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 after a long and courageous battle. She was born in her family home in Eldorado, Illinois on August 13, 1938. After graduating from High School she attended college at Carbondale University for one year. She then joined the Air Force and was stationed in Texas where she met and married her husband of 51 years and lived most of the rest of her life. After the Air Force, she worked for the U.S. Boundary and Water Commission. During that time, she went back to college and received her Bachelor's degree with a double major in History and Biology. She then joined the U.S. Customs and eventually retired as a Supervisory Customs Inspector on August 14, 1993. She is preceded in death by her sons; Roger D. Kieffe and Rodney D. Kieffe, her sister and three brothers. She is survived by her husband; Roxy D. Kieffe, daughter; Dana L. Kieffe, son; Rory D. Kieffe, son-in-law; Thomas L. Venn, daughter-in-law; Mercy Kieffe, grandchildren; Rory Kieffe, Ryan Kieffe, Brandt Crowe, Breanna Crowe, step grandchildren; TJ Venn and Brian Venn, step-great grandchildren; Tatum Venn and Caleb Venn, sister; Willadean Powell, brothers Larry Johnson (wife Bert) and Jay Johnson (wife Kathy), and her devoted puppies Colby and Aries. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Liver Foundation http://www.liverfoundation.org/ on the memorial link. A memorial service will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 N. Zaragoza, El Paso, TX 79936 (915) 856-1400 at 1 pm on Friday, February 19, 2010 followed by a procession and graveside tribute at 2:30 pm at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
