"Let me say this about that!"

Mr. McNamee:

It was a privilege to have worked with and for you. Your common sense and 3x5 cards served the El Paso division exceptionally.

Thank You

Mike & Marcia,
So sorry to hear of your loss and though we never met your dad I'm sure he was a wonderful person, for he certainly raised a wonderful son. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and all your loved ones.

I was out of town this past week and upon return to work at the FBI (El Paso) I read of Mr. McNamee's passing. I extend my condolences to his family and all close to him.

Mr. McNamee (I never called him John) will always be a part of my memory of my first day of work at the FBI. I always learned something from him whenever we had the occasion to visit with each other, and the topics varied from his recollection of sending teletypes upon the bombing of Pearl Harbor, to railroad memories (my dad was a railroader). As the dedicated worker that he was, Mr. McNamee postponed his retirement until he knew the El Paso Division was safe, sound and settled in their move from the Federal Courthouse to the Federal Building. I will always have fond memories of him and his lovely wife, Lucille. I am thankful to have had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with Mr. McNamee. (I always loved receiving his typed notes; he made them personalized.)

Fondly I remember the McNamee family. Sharon baby sat for us on occasion and Mike played ball at Jesuit High School. When picking Sharon up Mr & Mrs McNamee were a pleasant and caring couple. My sympathy and prayers are with the family. Tom McGuire

When my folks first moved to El Paso in 1949, one of the first friends they made were John and Lucille MCNamee. I remember going over to their house many times when Lucille was my Cub Scout Den Mother. My thoughts and prayers are with Mike, Sharon, Danny and the whole McNamee family. Mr. John will be missed.

I met Mr. McNamee in 1984 when he became my supervisor. He was a wonderful man to work with, always listened to you, and never, ever lost his cool. I am proud to have known and worked with this wonderful man and I will miss him, but I will always be grateful for what he taught me.

Thank you, Mr. John, for the wonderful example of your life and the true meaning of family that you showed us, along with your wife, throughout your life. We are most blessed to have known your son, Danny, since more than thirty years ago. You are a shining light to us all.

I remember Mr. McNamee always observing us while we were working to make sure we knew what we were doing, and that we were doing it correctly. He would say funny things like "You look as busy as a one-armed paper-hanger with the hives!" He was a strict disciplinarian, but you always knew where you stood with him, and had confidence in him as a supervisor.

"Let me say this about that!"

Mr. McNamee, you were the best boss I ever had, and without your prompting, I would never have graduated. Thank you for your unselfish interest and devotion to all of us "old-time" clerks, the FBI, and... your country. The world and the "Big-B" will never be the same without you.

Thank you for the memories!!

I've done several work projects for Mr. John. I admired his spunk and his personal attention to his beautiful lawn, which really set him back when he had to plant "rocks" in the front yard because it was too much for him to attend to. I'll miss you pardner !
