I worked for John in the early 80s as a sales man at Courtesy Chevrolet. He took me under his wing and taught me everything I know about sales. He once told me that if I sell cars and do for a year I could make it a career. He encouraged me to go to school before I made that decision. I did not know of his passing until recently. I will miss him. My condolences to his family.

I met John and Robin at a friendly card game at our mutual friend Pablo Bianchi's house. John had an open hearted optimistic attitude and we connected because I was looking at moving to work and live in Carlsbad and John and Robin shared about their son who lived in Carlsbad and they had recently gone for a visit. Family seemed important to John and
he knew my family was mostly back near Chicago so John never hesitated to make connections with people across the card table, the tennis court or the backyard fence with his sensible honest to goodness
class and style.

Words cannot express the tremendous loss I feel in my precious nephew’s passing. I played with him, grew up with him, enjoyed him immensely. I’ll miss him so. God bless you dear family with His comfort.

A lot off stuff has been written about how to have a great personality, smile, and winning attitude. And really, all you needed was to spend 15 minutes with John. He will be missed.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I hope you remember me. I used to work at LBJ and took care of Jordy after school. God bless you.
