Jose Alday

El Paso - Jose Antonio Alday passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at age 90. He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered for his gentle soul, quick wit, devotion to his children and boundless love for his late wife, Genoveva.

Jose will be dearly missed by the many lives he touched in Matamoros, Mexico, where he was born, the Rio Grande Valley where he studied, Washington D.C. where he lived, built his family and worked as a printer for AFSCME and Fannie Mae, and across Texas, Mexico and beyond.

Jose is survived by his sister Magdalena Lopez-Araiza, his sons Javier Alday and Jorge Alday and his granddaughter Ines Alday. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Ann Church in Washington D.C. Interment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland. José Antonio Alday falleció el miércoles 16 de junio del 2021 a los 90 años de edad. Fue un querido padre, abuelo, esposo, hermano, tío y amigo. Será recordado por su alma gentil, ingenio rápido, devoción a sus hijos y amor ilimitado por su difunta esposa, Genoveva. José será profundamente echado de menos por las muchas vidas que tocó en Matamoros, México, donde nació, en el Río Grande Valley donde estudió, en Washington DC donde vivió, formó su familia y trabajó como impresor para AFSCME y Fannie Mae, y en Texas, México y más allá. A José le sobrevive su hermana Magdalena López-Araiza, sus hijos Javier Alday y Jorge Alday y su nieta Inés Alday. La misa fúnebre se celebrará el miércoles 23 de junio del 2021 a las 10:00 a.m. en la iglesia St. Ann en Washington D.C.
