Mack Jones Obituary


Let us rejoice today the 12th of December 2007 in the passing of Mack Henry Jones into the arms of our Lord where he will now be in peace and free from pain after suffering from a long illness. Mack was born to Vertis and Buford Jones in Mississippi on the 7th of May 1942. Orphaned at a very young age and an only child he was raised by his loving and doting Grandparents Mack and Ellen Bonds in Michigan. Mack went on to give 21 years of his life to the U.S. Army. Retiring in 1982, he spent time in Korea, Germany, 2 tours in Vietnam and many stateside assignments. He went on to work for the USPS and retired in 1999 medically and returned to El Paso which he called home. Survived by his wife of 25 years, Suzanne Kristovich Jones of El Paso, cousin, Mary Ellen King of Chicago, stepson's, Aaron (Dana) Slate of Modesto, CA, Anthony Slate of Reno, NV and 6 grandchildren. Also, his mother-in-law, Charlotte Smith of Tacoma, WA and father-in-law, George Kristovich of Olympia, WA. Many thanks to Tina and Gil of Always Caring his caregivers of 2 ½ years and the whole gang at WBAMC Nephrology dialysis unit. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2007 at 10:30 am at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Mr. Jones,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army-especially in Korea and Vietnam. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
