Manuel Samaniego

SAMANIEGO Manuel J. Samaniego, 87, passed away peacefully in his home on May 7, 2011, surrounded by the love of family and caretakers. He was born to Bonifacio Samaniego and Senorina Juarez in Marfa, Texas, on July 23, 1923. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Elfida Samaniego, his parents, his sisters: Horalia (Lala) Samaniego and Julia Padilla. Survivors include his daughters: Zulema S. Frausto and Olga Samaniego, son-in-law, Gilbert Frausto, 4 grandchilderen: Alyssa Frausto-Ramirez (Victor), Naomi Frausto, Omar Frausto and Elizabeth Samaniego, 5 great-grandchildren: Sean, Emily, Sofia, Natalia and Xavier. He was employed by TXDOT for 32 years. He was a skilled carpenter who took great pride in all that he built with his hands. Visitation will be at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana Ave., on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 5-9 pm with Vigil at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, 10am at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Dr. Interment following at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. His family would like to thank those persons who gave him such loving care, Caya, Vicky, Rosa, Laura, Bunny, Envision Hospice, 3rd Floor Telemetry at Del Sol Hospital and his neighbors who were at his bedside with their prayers and support.
