PETER LOVE

1945 - 2016

Peter Francis Love, beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend, died December 4, surrounded by family, from complications of CLL leukemia and pneumonia. He was born in El Paso in 1945, the son of John and Katherine Love. He was a graduate of Jesuit High School, class of 1963, and a 1967 graduate of Georgetown University, where he was President of the Yard and Class Valedictorian. He was a successful businessman, becoming General Manager of Cigna International in New York. After retirement, Peter returned to El Paso where he enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He also volunteered as a member of El Paso's Appraisal Review Board and the Board of the Boys and Girls Club. Anyone lucky enough to know Peter savored his dry, intelligent wit, his discerning taste, and his often wickedly acerbic comments. Everyone always wanted to sit next to "Uncle Peter" at a party. He was that rare man who lived his life exactly as he wanted, and a great part of that meant spending time with the family he loved so dearly. He is survived by brother Jack Love, sister Kathy Bell (Frank); nieces Angela Novak (Jim); Tara Love (Tom Reavis); Katherine Hill (Matt); Allison McCorvey (John), and several great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, December 6 at 3 p.m. at the Chapel at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, with a celebration of "a life well lived" afterwards at Peter's home at5425 Soledad Lane.
