Dear Ones, Do not be sad look up towards the stars and catch each twinkle in your heart. For I am there with you. My legacy is not wealth or mighty belongings, my legacy is you and your life. Spend it wisely and carefully guard it always. Do not be sad feel the wind on your face and in your hair. Know that I loved you for I am there with you, in your laughter and in your hearts. Learn to live again without me. Take my strength with you for you are not alone. Do not be sad feel the rain on your face, feel all life's treasures and know that you are alive! At each step of the way I will help you for I am with you always Until we meet again. ~ Author Unknown

Maggie, this is the Clacks who use to be your neighbors of 1988 when we both built our house at the same time. Stella and Connie Clack. So sorry, to learn of Roger's death, just pulled it up on the El Paso site. We are now in Arizona, and today 20 Sep 2010 we are just learning of this death. Such a great guy, a great husband and father and son. I pray God's blessing be with you, Jacob, daughter. We had so much fun visiting in those days. I will try to reach you by phone. Take care and look to God for your strength and all your help in this time of sorrow.

I know what you mean, it doesn't get any easier. I keep thinking this is just a dream and one day he will call me again. I hate that I will never
hear him say to me "So what's the story?" My heart has this void and it still hurts like crazy. I loved my "little one" very much but the great thing is that someday we will both see him again in his glorified body. I take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and that he is with Becky, Grandpa, Grandma, Corky and Rick. I am praying for all of you but God has you all in the palm of His hands. I love you all.
Love you Aunt Ruth

I love you Dad. My heart will never be the same without you. I miss you dearly, I need to hear you laugh again, I need to feel your hug again, I need to see your smile. Lord knows I dont understand, but I know he doesnt make mistakes.
My heart hurts every minute of the day. Whoever said that it gets better as time passes? Not with me dad, everyday that passes, more and more tears come down. I dont know how Im suppose to go on living life without you.
I still walk into the den and look for you at your spot on the couch.I go into your closet and hug your hanging shirts, in hopes of smelling you. When my phone rings, I look to see if it'll say "Dad". I listen to an old voicemail you left me, just to hear your voice. I miss getting you your chocolate sundae from 31. I miss not hearing the lawn mower early sunday morning.
Journey asks for his "Gumpa" and it breaks my heart. You were his hero, as im finding out you were to many.
So pre-season started, the cowboys are looking pretty good. I know the boys are gonna take it all the way this year in honor of their biggest fan.
I miss you dad, you were my hero, the best man I knew. I promise to make you proud of me. Please save me the closest seat to you up there.
I always be your "princess of the land of the small" or "moms"
I love you

Upon my very first week of transferring to El Paso, my colleagues took me to have "the best hamburger you will ever eat!" They spoke the truth. We continued to have lunch there every week if we were not out of town on business. Mr. Carrasco treated us with respect and always as if he had know us a lifetime. I, in turn, took my family there. When they are in El Paso, the first place they want to eat is Rosco's. We will miss his humor, kindness, love of cars and the Dallas Cowboys. The loss is a loss for the entire city of El Paso. Children learn what they live. Your children will prosper because of the man you were. Please accept our deepest condolences and wishes for continued success. God Bless the Carrasco famil.

I extend heartfelt condolences to the Carrasco family. It was just a few days ago that my husband and I wondered about the family and the hamburger joint. My Uncle, Rev. Wm. Hageman, took me there when I first arrived in El Paso as the church secretary. I 'tasted' my first jalepeno- burning my entire digestive passage and forever after hooked on them. We dearly loved Roger Carrasco, the 'father' of the restaurant and are sorry to hear of his son's passing. It is good to know the heritage will continue under Jacob. God bless you all.

My condolences to your entire family. Mr. Carrasco used to make burgers for my mom and dad when they were dating, and I went to Austin High with Roger. I will miss Roger turning around from the grill as I walk in and have him ask me "how was your flight?" because he knew that I would drive directly to Carraso's from the airport when travelling to El Paso. It was an honor to have met the next generation of Carrasco's working there when we visited last summer. I was looking forward to seeing him on Friday when I travelled from Austin. God Bless You Bro!

Our deepest sympathy to the Carrasco family. I began eating Rosce Burgers since I was about 6 or 7. My godfather worked at White's store and would bring them home on Friday nights. I recently got the opportunity to speak to Roger often because he went to our church. Everytime we would go in to eat, he would come sit down with us and talk about how the Lord had healed him. He was a man of great Faith. We will miss him.

Maggie, I am so sorry about Jr as we called him until my kids, Ruly, Sherry, Edith, Joseph and Dale started calling him Roger. What a great loss and how shocked I was that he had passd away. When I last talked to him I was very encouraged that he sounded like his old self. Shortly after I learned from my youngest son, that he had been ill after speaking to Jacob and asking where Jr was, when he and a co-worker went to eat at Roscoe's. Maggie he went to a great family reunion in heaven. He is not only in God's presence but in the company of his great grandmother, Chonita, grandmother Cuca, his father Rogelio, his mother Alicia, his aunts Amparo, (my mother), his aunt Eliza, my Uncle Joel Yoda from CA, my sister Josefina, and many other family members that have passed before him. He is enjoying the family like we used to do when he was a tiny boy. One funny thing that comes to mind and I might have told Jr, this is that I was his mother's and aunt Elvira's watchdog from Grandma Cuca when she was arriving from work. They were outside the house with their boyfriends, his dad (Rogelio) and Poncho Telles. I was to warn them that Cuca was coming by singing the theme song from the Shadow, "The Shadow Knows". To this day I don't know how they ever got married to the boyfriends because Grandmother Cuca was so stern and strict. I don't recall that they ever went on a date. I think they went straight to the church. One day I found pictures of his Mom, Alicia and Dad, Rogelio when they were married and other family members. I took them to Jr at the restaurant before I moved to Ruidoso. Jr was very pleased to receive them. I too, enjoyed those famous onion smelly hamburgers which everyone at work instantly knew where I had eaten lunch. They would say "you have been to Roscos"! Another story I recall is when Rogelio would take Jr to church and I would take my kids to the same church. We would give the kids money to give as offering and they all together, including Jr, would run down to the Minute Market down the street and use the money to buy candy. They had fun when they were all children. Maggie, Stephanie & Jacob, you will always have wonderful memories of Jr and remember that God loves you and that you are not alone in this. There are countless family members and friends who also loved him dearly and will truly miss him. My sincerest condolences to you, Jacob and Stephanie. Love, Rachel

Roger (little one)
As your youngest sister I will miss you so much. We are not going to your funeral, but we are coming to be there for your graduation ceremonoy. Your graduation day was not your typical day you were not behind the scenes putting on your usual cap and gown waiting for your named to be called out. On July 27, 2010 God opened the Lambs book of life and HE called your name. Immediately you walked up to the throne of God and there before so many other graduates Jesus presented you with not a cap, but your crown and then he put on your white robe of righteousness. It was a graduation ceremony like no other. But the wonderful thing was that the people you loved the most where there when your named was called. I know you would not want us to grieve but to be joyous in the new journey you have now begun. So lets remember how he touched not only our family's lives but the lives of so many friends and customers. This is not a time for us to shed tears, but we should be thankful that we were given the chance to have known a brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and a friend named Roger (Roscoe). There will never be another Roger. I know when I get to heaven you will be easy to find all I have to do is follow the grilled onion smell! Love you.

Jr. will be missed sadly by all our Family. I remember going to my Uncle Roger's & my Aunt Alicia home on Bishop after church for lunch & us kids would go by the railroad tracks and play and have a great time on those Sundays. Growing up 1 block away from Rosco's I had the privilige of knowing your grandfather and father and the great hand-made "greasy burgers". No other burger will ever beat that taste! But what I shall always remember and be eternally grateful for is they gave my brother his first job, which, in my eyes, kept him busy and out of trouble he may have gotten into if it hadn't been for the responsibility of having to show up to work his shifts no matter what. As for me, being Eli's little sister, your dad would at times not charge me and tell me he would make my brother pay for it....of course, this was my benefit! Roger was a good man and leaves behind a great legacy. He will be missed.

My Dear Family: What I learned from my uncle Roger is that you fight the good fight. You never give up; you keep believing the Lord will heal you even when you are still feeling sick, even when you become frail and your body starts to lose the battle. My Uncle Roger went out of this world in victory believing and trusting God . . . what a way to go! I learned how to be a hard worker and that you must always be a good host to all guests. Roger and Maggie taught me how to make a guest always feel welcome in my home and that you can never have too many pets or friends. You always find time for family. Of course, Uncle Roger shared his love of Country music. Because of Roger's example I'm a better person! I was born in El Paso but live in California. For me, El Paso will never be the same! I will miss you, my precious uncle. Mimi Morales

I don't have as many memories with Roger as some might, but what I remember of him left an impression. I remember him showing my brother and I all of his hunting equipment and being equally impressed and terrified that he hunted with a bow and arrow because a gun was just too easy for him. Being raised by my step dad Rudy, I grew up hearing stories about how him and Roger grew up together and how the two of them would catch lizards, play tricks on each other and how Roger once convinced a 5 yr old Rudy that he could fly. I visited Rosco Burgers a few times growing up visiting Roger, Maggie, Stephanie and Jacob, and they literally are the best burgers in the world along with the most amazing Caldejo that just makes you cry it's so good (and so hot). Most of all what I remember is what a good person Roger was and how everyone who ever met him liked him immediately and was influenced by his infectious humor and kind heart, including me. He's someone I will miss in spite of not knowing him as well as I would have liked to. Hope they have hunting season in Heaven, if not., knowing you, you'll find a way to break the rules.

sinceramente,
Jessy

I am so VERY sorry to hear this . . . what wonderful times so many of us had at Rosco's . . . blessings and prayers go out to Roger's family, friends and clients. One of the greatest gifts in life is to work with honor and dignity, to give the best you can give to your patrons. Roger not only did that but created a happy place for all his clients to come to. A great gift, indeed. Rest in Peace

I have very fond memory's of Carrosco's. I went to the Burger Inn when Rogelio was there. He went to the same church as my family. Whenever my mom would take my sister & I there, I always thought that he only treated us as special customers. Roger is just a few years older than me. I remember doing some things with him. He was a special guy. My deepest sympathies to the family.

Roger was truly a great man and a heck of a burger maker, he will truly be missed by all. Loved to stop by and talk about old times and old friends, of course had to get my double cheeseburger basket. Guess they needed a super burger maker in heaven and so he made that final journey. Go in peace my friend we will think of you often. Our condolensces to Rogers family, and with the strength of our Lord you will pull through, God Bless. Be in soon for my double cheeseburger basket.....

I am sorry for your loss. Mr. Carrasco will be missed. It is a loss to El Paso also. I have many pleasant memories of great burgers enjoyed with friends there. He always had a kind word for me. I loved how the best burger could always be enjoyed with a soda from a glass bottle. Glad to hear that his son will continue with the legacy for El Paso.

When I was 14 years old I got my 1st real job working with your Grandpa and your dad at Burger Inn (AKA Roscos). I worked at Roscos through my Sophomore year in college. Your Grandpa taught me the value of hard work and your dad was like a big brother to me. Roger taught me about hunting, cars, and life. I will truly miss talking to him. He was a good man. He will be missed.

So sorry for the loss of a great owner involved in the restaurant business - the Carrasco family has built a legacy with the Roscoe burgers and also shared ideas and good times with my family and their restaurants (The Clock Restaurants) many years ago. Rest In Peace Roger Carrasco!

My mom use to take me to Manny's to get haircuts. On the way home we sometimes would stop and grab some burgers for everyone in the family. Rogelio made the best, and Roger kept up the tradition. My heart felt condolences to the Carrasco family. Your loss is the entire city's loss.

I got to know Roger through my Dad. He was the one that showed me how to shoot a bow. I looked forward to sitting at the counter and talking of cars, sports and outdoors. It wont be the same without him, He will surely be missed. Roger thanks for the excellent advice. My heart and prayers go out to his family. God Bless.
