STEPHEN CANO Obituary

Stephen Christopher Cano, 43, was called to the arms of our Heavenly Lord on November 5, 2016. We pray our memories of you will sustain us till we meet again. We remember when you were born, you greeted us with such a godsent smile, and joy of life. We loved watching you live your life with such purity of heart and generous nature, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. We truly enjoyed your passion for music through drumming from childhood through graduation from Burges High School. You continued your education at El Paso Community College, but, your love for God's creatures, forest and traveling led you to seek employment at the Grand Canyon and later, Yosemite National Park. Stephen, Beloved Son and Brother, we loved with all our hearts that you enjoyed celebrating life with your family, friends and pets. Stephen was also gifted with a knack for technology and quick repairs. Stephen will be remembered for his great smile and laughter, and especially, his humility and integrity. Until we meet again, we will miss your beautiful soul and will be forever grateful that you were a part of our lives. Stephen is survived by his loving parents, Lawrence, Martha Cano and his brother and best friend Larry. He is preceded in death by his beloved brother David. Stephen is survived by his godparents, Fred and Cecilia O. Kraft, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 5-8, with a Rosary at 7 at Hillcrest Chapel Carolina in celebration of his life. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 10 am.

Why, Stephen? Why did u leave me?? I looked for u. God knows I looked for u for so long, only to find out u left six years earlier. I didn't get a chance to hug u or say goodbye. My heart is hurting still today. I need u more than ever. U were, and will always remain my best friend. I wish things could have been different and I would have listened to u when u were here and opened ur heart to me. I love u, Stephen. There's not a single day that goes by that I don't think of u in some way. My God, if I only had another day with u. Another chance to tell u all that is in my heart. But I know the Lord will grant me that moment one Day. Till then, I have our memories and the sound of ur voice and laughter that never leaves me, to be with me for life. I love u, Stephen. Till we hug again in heaven.

Your Best Friend, Ceci.
