Cheryl Debeltz

Cheryl (Erikkila) Debeltz, at the age of 80, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on June 10, 2025 at the Ely Bloomenson Community Hospital due to complications of Alzheimer's.
Cheryl was on Hospice as she lived at her home and was taken care of lovingly by her children. She was in the hospital for respite when she died peacefully in her sleep.
Cheryl was a loving and caring wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She helped out many people through meaningful jobs such as an Alternative Ed Aid and CNA at the Ely Nursing Home for over 25 years.
Cheryl was very involved in many church activities for the last 51 years at the Ely Gospel Tabernacle/Church including Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Joy Club co-founder and co-leader and was also involved in Missions for over 20 years. She would lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need and she especially enjoyed encouraging children to have a relationship with the Lord by bringing them to church activities.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her sister Nancy Rodich, her husband John, her step-mom, father, mother, and miscarried twins.
Cheryl is survived by her children John (Linda) Debeltz, Dawn (Marty) Chinander and Sherry Larson. She has four grandchildren Zachary (Angie) Debeltz, Jesse (Ayla) Debeltz, Caitlin (Luke) Daniels and Sarah (Alec) Larson. She has a niece Deb Rodich and nephew Richard Rodich on her side of the family, and many nieces and nephews on her deceased husband's side of the family.
A BIG thank you to Pastor Tim Cook, our brothers and sisters in the church, our family and friends, the East Range Hospice team and the nursing staff at the Ely Bloomenson Community Hospital for the care she received. A special thank you to Sarah (her Hospice nurse) Flo (her Hospice bath aide) and Barbara (her very special visitor). God bless you all!!
A Celebration of Life Ceremony for Cheryl will be held at the Ely Gospel Church Sunday, June 29th. Visitation will be at 3:00 and service at 4:00, followed by fellowship at 5:30 in the church basement. It will also be live streamed.
Cheryl will be greatly missed by her family and friends, and if you knew her, she was your friend.
