Beth and I grew up in the same neighborhood. Her mother was our girl scout leader. I remember Ferda as being strict and no nonsense. She had us perform Heidi in her basement. Beth had a tandem bicycle that she loved to share with another lucky person. She had such fun riding us around the hood on the bike. But most memorable, We had a kick-butt softball team through parks and rec. Beth was a strong player and we did well. Beth was the perfect balance of fun, kid and fierce. It is my honor to have known Beth. RIP.
