David Ellenbogen Obituary

Dr. David Michael Ellenbogen, 64, Owensville, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023, at his home in Owensville after a long struggle with cancer.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York, Nov. 17, 1958, to Rita and Stanley Ellenbogen. David graduated from Stony Brook University in New York and then continued his education in Chesterfield at Logan College of Chiropractic, graduating in 1983. He began practicing chiropractic in Arnold and Manchester. In 1987, he opened up his chiropractic office in Pacific where he practiced until February 2023. He also was a part-time instructor at Logan College where he taught many Logan students, teaching chiropractic adjusting techniques and diagnostic skills.

David is survived by his spouse, Janalee Ellenbogen, Villa Ridge; sons, Sam Ellenbogen, Independence, and Scott Ellenbogen, Kansas City; brother, Dr. Joshua (Sara) Ellenbogen, Annapolis, Maryland; sisters, Laurie (Mike) Sinatra, Boynton Beach, Florida, and Caryn (Jack) Dayney, Delray Beach, Florida; special friend, Joni Esperian, Coonsocket, New Hampshire; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and colleagues.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Rita Ellenbogen.

A funeral service was held Friday, April 14, at Berger Memorial Chapel, St. Louis.

A private burial was at New Mount Sinai Cemetery, St. Louis.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of donor's choice.
