David Nadler Obituary

David "Hootie" Lee Nadler, 70, Augusta, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

David, son of the late Walter Nadler and wife Edna, nee Mallinkrodt, was born Oct. 17, 1951, in Washington. David received his education at Christ Lutheran Church Grade School in Augusta, and graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1969. He was united in marriage to Brenda Griffin on Feb. 25, 1978, at the Nazarene Church in Union. The couple made their home in Washington before making their permanent residence in Augusta. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Joshua and Kimberlee.

David had a long successful career as a concrete finisher working for Cement Mason Union Local 527 and retired from there in 2007. He also farmed the family farm in Augusta with his brother, Royce. During his childhood years, he attended and was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta, and later became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington. He was a member of a few organizations, including the Hummingbird Club and VFW Post 2661, both in Washington. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, farming and spending time with his friends at the river. One of his true passions was wine making. He entered his wine every year and won many first place plaques and Best of Show awards with his buddy John. What David cherished most was spending time with his wife of 44 years, Brenda, his children, Joshua and Kimberlee, and grandchildren, Logan, Kaylee, Hannah and Oliver. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Nadler, Augusta; one daughter, Kim Heining and husband Eric, Augusta; one daughter-in-law, Kara Marvel, Augusta; four grandchildren, Logan Marvel, Kaylee Heining, Hannah Heining and Oliver Heining; one sister, Joyce George and husband Larry, Texas; one godson, Ryan Nadler and wife Kelly, Washington; five sisters-in-law, Suzanne Griffin, Union, Pam Kinkeade and significant other Ronnie Weber, Bay, Pearl Davis and husband Scott, Union, Tina Griffin and significant other Ted Bandy, Beaufort, and Shar Nadler, Washington; one brother-in-law, Bruce Glass, New Haven; nieces; nephews; many other relatives and friends.
