Edward Pate Obituary

Edward Eugene Pate, 80, Union, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025.

Edward was born Dec. 15, 1944, and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. After his service, he built his career as a sales representative in electrical distribution with Fletcher-Reinhardt. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, and cherished moments with his family.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Viola Pate, as well as his siblings, Gerald "Jerry" Pate and Anita Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (nee Barker); his son, Sam (Becky); his daughter, Stephanie Richter (Danny); his two grandchildren, August Pate and Crosby Richter, who brought him great joy; and his brother-in-law, Ray Barker and wife Sharon.

Edward and Kathleen were married at St. John the Baptist Gildehaus Church, a union that served as the foundation of a long and loving life together.

A celebration of Edward's life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.

Edward will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
