Emilie M. Overschmidt

Emilie M. Overschmidt, 26, Washington, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Emilie, daughter of Clarence G. Overschmidt and wife Diane, nee Meyer, was born Nov. 23, 1996, in Washington. She received her education from Washington High School, Associate of Science degree in transfer engineering from East Central College and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla. She worked in the chemistry lab helping the research team at Missouri S&T, a job she loved.

Emilie was a talented artist and great writer. She liked to draw, paint and make digital drawings. She did well with most anything that took some creativity. She loved animals, especially her dog, Lucky, who passed a few years before her, marine animals and wolves. She enjoyed swimming and beach vacations. She loved Missouri's spring water creeks, collecting pretty rocks at the creek's edge and kayaking on them. Emilie was great with electronics and enjoyed various video games and movies.

Among her survivors are her parents, Clarence and Diane Overschmidt, Washington, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James Meyer and Dolores Meyer-Roehrs and husband Kenny, and paternal grandparents, Clarence Overschmidt and Millie Overschmidt Chisholm and husband Harry.

Visitation was scheduled for Friday, March 24, from 2-4 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a memorial service following at 4 p.m.

Memorial donations to help with funeral expenses can be made to the family of Emilie Overschmidt.
