Gary Busse Obituary

Gary Wayne Busse, St. Clair, departed this life in St. Louis Thursday, June 10, 2021, having reached the age of 62 years and 11 months.

Gary was born July 10, 1958, to Harry and Loretta Busse. He was blessed to have a daughter in his younger years. On June 17, 2006, he was united in marriage to Kathy Irene Ziegler and gained five bonus children. In his early working years, he worked with his dad and brothers in the family business, Busse & Sons. He also was employed at the Washington Missourian, Nelson Tree Service and Labadie Power Plant.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy, St. Clair; three daughters, Jessica Kampmann (D.J.), Union, Dawn Hix (Paul) and Misty Beason (Mike), all of St. Clair; three sons, Scott Palmer (Jennifer), Chas Palmer (Chris) and Timmy Maddux (Tonya), all of St. Clair; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Willard, Danny (Lynnette) and Donnie Busse; four sisters, Linda Busse (Dennis), Karen Blum (Ron), Sharon Meyer (Mark) and Donna "Punkie" Busse; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; sisters- and brothers-in-law; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Loretta; his father-in-law, Louis Ziegler; mother-in-law, Laura McCafferty; one brother, Harry Jr.; and one niece, Casey Dix.

Gary was of the Baptist faith and believed in the Lord as his Savior. He had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and loved riding his as often as he could. He loved to play his guitar and listen to music. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying deer hunting and mushroom hunting. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family.

A loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

In Gary's honor, a memorial service is being planned on his birthday, July 10, and a bike run is being planned as well.
