James Luecke Obituary

James J. Luecke, 69, New Haven, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Creve Coeur.

James, son of the late Gregory Luecke and wife Antoneta, nee Narup, was born Nov. 9, 1952, in Washington. He was the husband of Dorothy Luecke, nee Jaco. They were united in marriage May 1, 1976, in New Haven City Park.

He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, New Haven, and served as city alderman for New Haven for 11 years. James worked for the Washington Parks Department mowing grass. Prior to that, he worked for Metalcraft.

James is survived by his wife, Dorothy Luecke, New Haven; a sister, Marlene Pecaut and husband David, Warrenton; a brother, Larry Luecke, Krakow; many nieces and nephews; and three honorary grandchildren, Keven McDowell, Kimberley McDowell and Krista Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Theresa Luecke.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at New Haven City Park, New Haven.

Memorials may be given to Assumption Catholic Church or New Haven Senior Center, in care of Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.

Arrangements are in care of Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, St. Clair.
