Joan Ellen Bardot, 82, of Lonedell, Missouri, departed this life, surrounded by the love of her family, on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024.
Joan was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on July 28, 1942, daughter of David G. Furse and Lois Alberta Furse, nee King. On May 27, 1961, she was united in marriage to Robert Allen Bardot Sr. in Salina, Kansas, and four children came to bless this union.
Joan is survived by her children, Robert Bardot Jr. and wife Dianna, Roger Bardot and wife Wendy, all of Lonedell, MO, LoisAnn Bardot-Fisk, of Grubville, MO, and Pam Broeker and husband Troy, of Lonedell, MO; by her brothers, David Furse and wife Suzie, of Easley, SC, Dennis Furse and wife Mary, of Newtown, CN, and Michael Furse and wife Cindy, of Merriam, KS; by six sisters, Kathy Pierce, of Las Vegas, NV, Mary Whitesell and husband Larry, of Bennington, KS, Bernita Morrison and husband John, of Lowell, MA, Laura Furse, Loretta Perkinson and husband David, all of Salina, KS, and Ginna Larkins and husband Brad, of Olathe, KS; by 11 grandchildren, Brandon Bardot and wife Alesha, of Union, MO, Darron Bardot and wife Jessica, of Troy, MO, Emily Schmidt and husband Kolby, of Chickasha, OK, Ericka Broeker, of Florissant, MO, Rachel Bardot, of Ashland, MO, Ben Bardot and wife Julia, of DeSoto, MO, Lucas Broeker, of High Ridge, MO, Laura Moore and husband Zech, of Belle, MO, Ryan Bardot, of Washington, DC, Morgan Broeker, and Jennifer Broeker, both of Lonedell, MO; by 12 great-grandchildren, Roselyn, Dorothy, Annie, Cecilia, and Frances Bardot, Liam and Colt Bardot, Cooper Bardot, August and Sawyer Schmidt, and Lucy and Mabel Moore, with two more on the way; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her father, David Furse; by her mother, Lois Furse; by her husband, Robert Bardot Sr.; by two sisters, Diane Miller and infant Margaret Furse; by her son-in-law, Gary Fisk; and by two brothers-in-law, Joe Miller and Jerry Pierce.
Joan was a Christian and longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Luebbering, MO, and a member of the Couple's Club, where couples would host dances to raise money for tuition for Catholic school students. Besides being a dedicated farmer's wife and caring for her home and family, she sold Avon door to door for 35 years, where she proudly achieved President's Club every year. Joan was an avid reader, a talented seamstress who enjoyed knitting and sewing and also enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels feed. She loved to shop, especially on HSN, QVC, and Zulily. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. Joan cherished the time they would come to visit. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever remain in their hearts.
A funeral Mass took place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Luebbering, with Father Eric Kunz officiating.
Interment was private in the Robert and Joan Bardot Family Cemetery.
