Kathye Geissler Obituary

Kathye Jane Geissler, 74, of St. Clair, Missouri, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024.

Kathye was born in Manhattan, Kansas, on March 16, 1950, daughter of Onley Temple Davis Jr. and Edna ?Jane? Davis, nee Edwards. As a young woman, she was united in marriage to James McCormack and blessed to have five children. On Dec. 31, 2016, she was united in marriage to Gary Lawrence Geissler, and their families were joined as one.

Kathye was a Christian, believing in the Lord as her Savior and a member of Compass Ministries. During her working career, she managed numerous retail stores in the area, including Kennedy's, Colonel Days, Dollar General, and Kohl's in Washington, where she retired after 10 years of service to the company. Her love of singing throughout her life led her to be a music leader at church with Gary and sing at various nursing homes. Kathye's love of animals was rooted in her life through the rescue of many in need, taking care of others? pets, and volunteering at the Franklin County Humane Society. Kathye also loved to go shopping, on road trips, and do crosswords. Word has it that her hands never touched a lawn mower. What meant most to her was time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever.

Kathye is survived by her husband, Gary Geissler, of St. Clair, MO; by her children, Michael McCormack and wife Tina, of Washington, MO, Steven McCormack, of Spring, TX, Patrick McCormack, of Union, MO, Jeffrey McCormack, of Springfield, MO, and Tricia McCormack, of Melbourne, Australia; by her stepchildren, George Geissler, Chris Geissler and wife Elizabeth, all of Washington, MO, Elizabeth Knight and husband Matt, of High Ridge, MO, Anna Geissler, of Sedalia, MO, MaryBeth Hickinbotham and husband Josh, of Pacific, MO, Stephen Shepherd, of Bonne Terre, MO, Amy Heron and husband Bobby, of Robertsville, MO, Timothy Geissler and fianc? Deborah, of Bonne Terre, MO, Sara McDaniel and husband Cody, of St. Clair, MO, and James Geissler, of Columbia, MO; by her sisters, Pamela Davis, of Florida, and Royln Hiatt and husband Fred, of Napa, CA; by many grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Kathye was preceded in death by her parents, Onley T, Davis Jr, and Walt and Jane Specie.

A celebration of life was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, at Franklin Baptist Center, 785 Butterfield Drive, Union, MO, with the Rev. Jim Creek officiating.
