Kenneth Stahlman Obituary
Kenneth Stanley Stahlman, known to most as Ken, 84, St. Clair, departed this life Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, in Washington.
Ken was born Dec. 23, 1930, in St. Clair, the son of Monroe Adolph Stahlman and wife Elsie Marie, nee Wagner. He was united in marriage to Margaret Mae Briggs, known to most as Marge, March 27, 1953, and two children came to bless this union.
Ken was a devoted Christian and lifelong member of Green Mound Baptist Church, St. Clair. He was a very dedicated member and deacon of the church. Ken worked as a mechanic throughout his working career and was skilled at working on both automobiles as well as tractors and farm implements. His employment history included Murray International Dealership, St. Clair, Havin Implements, St. Clair, Wehmeyer Farm Implement Sales, Washington, and Brautigam Implement Company, Union. After his retirement, Ken still enjoyed working on tractors and helping his brother on his farm baling hay. Ken was truly a family man and the time spent with his family gave him great joy. The love they shared and many treasured memories they created will live in their hearts forever.
Ken is survived by his children, the Rev. Stanley Stahlman and wife Betty, Greenville, and Donna Howell and husband Ron, Bourbon; one brother, Wayne Stahlman and wife Linda, St. Clair; one sister, Jonell Phillips, St. Clair; one sister-in-law, Laura Stahlman, St. Clair; five grandchildren, Cindy Scott and husband Ty, St. James, Matthew Stahlman and wife Cathy, Joshua Stahlman and wife Krissy, all of Greenville, Jennifer Marroquin and husband Cifredo, Carencro, La., and Corey Culp and husband Adam, Sullivan; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marge Stahlman; parents, Monroe and Elsie Stahlman; and one brother, Ron Stahlman.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Lindell Vawter officiating.
Interment was in Green Mound Cemetery, St. Clair.
Memorials may be given to Green Mound Baptist Church or Cemetery.
