Lorena Hendrix Obituary

Lorena Carolina Hendrix, nee Kappelmann, 89, Union, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in St. Louis.

Mrs. Hendrix was born March 23, 1923, in Beaufort, the daughter of Frank Kappelmann and wife Anna, nee Segelhorst.

She was united in marriage to Lawrence Hendrix May 2, 1942. They made their home in Union. She was employed at Carmo Shoe for many years.

Mrs. Hendrix was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Beaufort. After marriage, she became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Union. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at church and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; a special friend, Rich Fasnacht; and one sister, Frances Buhr.

Mrs. Hendrix is survived by one son, Wayne Hendrix and wife Donna, St. Clair; one daughter, Diane Erdman and husband Jim, St. Louis; two grandchildren, Todd Erdman and wife Tracey and Laura Shomaker and husband Danny; four great-grandchildren, Katie and Emily Shomaker and Lucas and Rachel Erdman; other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Union, with the Rev. Robert Kriete officiating.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation was scheduled to be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church are preferred.

The family is being served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
