Madonna DeClue Obituary

Madonna Louise DeClue, 83, St. Clair, departed this life Monday, April 14, 2025, in St. Clair.

Madonna was born in Washington, Aug. 20, 1941, daughter of Frederic Eugene Birmingham and Louise Birmingham nee Welcher. On April 22, 1961, she was united in marriage to Rev. Arthur Lee DeClue and three children came to bless this union.

Madonna is survived by her children, Timothy Birmingham and wife, Barbara, Union, Michael DeClue, St. Clair, and Tammy Villmer and husband, Mickey, Lonedell; one brother, James Birmingham; her sister, Mary Birmingham; her grandchildren, Alisha Crafton, Crystal Birmingham and boyfriend, Dan Gadcke, Cheyenne Villmer and Logan Villmer; her great-grandchildren, Destiny Crafton, Brenden Welcher and wife, Shelby, Wyatt Crafton, Kaleb Welcher and Ellie Jarvis; by nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Madonna was preceded in death by her parents, Frederic and Louise Birmingham; her husband, Rev. Arthur DeClue; and by two brothers, Paul Birmingham and John Birmingham.

Madonna was a Christian of the Pentecostal faith and longtime member of Way of Life Tabernacle in Richwoods, Missouri. She worked at various factories in Washington and St. Louis, Missouri, and as a head cook in a restaurant in Washington. She enjoyed growing plants and flowers, going fishing and listening to gospel music, especially Elvis Presley. She loved shopping at the Agape House and other various thrift stores, resale shops and flea markets in the area. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren telling stories. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will never be forgotten.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great- and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 18, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with Rev. Raymond Laramore officiating.

Interment will be in Horine Cemetery in Richwoods, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the family.
