Marilyn Mentz Obituary

Marilyn Katherine Mentz (nee Kleekamp), 76, Leslie, departed this life Sunday, March 16, 2025, in New Haven.

Marilyn was born in Washington, July 27, 1948, daughter of Raymond Henry and Theola Mae (Elbert) Kleekamp. On May 1, 1971, Marilyn married the love of her life, William (Bill) Mentz at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington. They made their home in Leslie.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents, Ray and Theola; her brother, Ronnie Kleekamp; sisters-in-law, Norma Bowen and Laverne Schmitt; brothers-in-law, Joe Mentz and Mike Keasler; and niece, Amy Kleekamp.

Marilyn is survived by her brother, Dennis Ray Kleekamp, Union; sister, Judy Kay Keasler, Kokomo, Indiana; sister-in-law, Joyce Mentz; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews; cousins, and many friends.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, March 21, at Holy Family Catholic Church-Port Hudson in New Haven, with Rev. Jim Foster officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Church or New Haven Hospice.

The Mentz family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
