Michael Wieda Obituary
Mike was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Washington, the son of Fred Harmon Wieda and wife Maude, nee Huff. While united in marriage, he was blessed to have three children.
Mike was a Christian of the Baptist faith believing in the Lord as his Savior. Having been employed in the aircraft industry (McDonnell Aircraft and succeeding companies), he retired as a journeymen machinist with 47 years of service. He enjoyed tinkering with old gas engines and was always up for a good story. What meant most to him was time spent with his family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will forever be cherished by all of them.
A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great- and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Mike is survived by his children, Michelle Wieda, Valley Park, David Wieda and wife Angela, Union, and Barbara Wieda Culp, Washington; grandchildren, Adam Gerner and wife April, Lake Sherwood, Kalee Krupinski and husband Cody, Union, and Mekenna Kim and husband Yohan, Kansas City; great-grandchildren, Noah and Marren Gerner, Emery Krupinski and Kiyoung Kim; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Maude Wieda; his wives, Peggy Wieda, nee Ray, and Anna Marie Wieda, nee Henricks; sister, Barbara Wieda; and son-in-law, Terry Culp.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with Pastor Fred Banderman officiating.
Interment was in Virginia Mines Cemetery, Lonedell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Virginia Mines Cemetery Fund, c/o Donna Counts, 2692 Sullivan Bottom Road, St. Clair, MO 63077.
Arrangements are in care of Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
