Nancy Cain Obituary

Nancy Louise (Mansell) Cain, 78, Washington, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, in St. Louis.

Nancy was born July 28, 1942, to Paul and Theodora (Hapgood) Mansell, and raised in St. Louis. She was united in marriage to James Cain in June 1972, and they spent 14 wonderful years together before he passed. Nancy was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Washington, where she was very passionate about her relationship with our Lord and Savior.

She served our military in the Navy before being honorably discharged in 1964. Nancy then spent her years working at Dr. Kline's office and the Sullivan Montessori, where she was very passionate about teaching children. Nancy loved spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, playing computer games and donating to many charitable service organizations. She never knew a stranger, never ever complained, and had a smile that would brighten any room. Nancy will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her three children, daughter, Candy Grosman and husband Joe, St. Louis, son, Pete Nonnenkamp and wife Galatia, Valrico, Fla., and daughter, Robin Nonnenkamp, Washington; her beloved grandchildren, Christine Schembri and fiance Paul, Tyler King and wife Amber, Ben Grosman, Tiffini Lorenz and husband Ryan, Gary Nonnenkamp, Matthew Nonnenkamp and Drew Holzem; great-grandchildren, Owen Lorenz, Harper Hausman, Hudson Lorenz and Carter King; her siblings, Jacque Mansell, Pacific, Charles Mansell and wife Joyce, St. Louis, and Matthew Mansell and wife Sherry, Pacific; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Theodora Mansell; husband, James Cain; son, Gary Cain; and brother, William "Bill" Priest.

Visitation was held Thursday, Dec. 31, from 10 a.m. to noon at Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington, with a funeral service at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
