Roy Duenke Obituary

Roy Alan Duenke, 57, Jonesburg, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at St. Joseph West Hospital, Lake Saint Louis.

Roy was born Nov. 9, 1961, in Troy, the son of Harold S. Duenke and mother Eleanor E., nee Ohmes. He was the beloved husband of Vicki Duenke, nee Hagenhoff. Roy and Vicki spent 29 wonderful years together. They were married Sept. 9, 1989.

Roy was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Jonesburg. He also was a member of the Meat Cutters Union 655 and Knights of Columbus Council 1270. Roy's biggest joy was spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, friend and family member. Roy was a treasured brother, uncle and friend.

He worked for the family business, Wright City Meat Company, and later for Schnucks. Roy was fun loving and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed working on the farm, playing and watching sports, hunting, fishing and playing cards. Roy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Duenke, Jonesburg; two brothers, Brian (Kelly) Duenke, Marthasville, and Mike (Vicki Jo) Duenke, Laddonia; three sisters, Betty (Rick) Hakenewerth, Wentzville, Janet (Steve) Poindexter, Wellsville, and Dawn (Burt) Miller, Montgomery City; stepmother, Mary Ann Duenke, Laddonia; father-in-law, Clem Hagenhoff, Wentzville; brother-in-law, Steve (Bev) Hagenhoff, Foristell; two sisters-in-law, Rhonda (Jeff) Richterkessing, Foristell, and Carla (Mark) Northcutt, Laddonia; 21 nephews and nieces, Jesse, Eric, Chris, Shelly, Melissa, Jeffrey, Maddi, Dustin, Travis, Morgan, Justin, Ella, Bailey, Andrew, Lauren, Jacob, Olivia, Mitch, Jenna, Elizabeth and Sam; many great-nephews and great-nieces.

Roy was preceded in death by his father, Harold S. Duenke; mother, Eleanor E. Duenke; and brother, Bill Duenke.

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 25, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Jonesburg.

Interment will follow at Laddonia Cemetery, Laddonia.

Memorials to Shriners Hospital or St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Jonesburg, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385 are preferred.

The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.

My deepest sympathy goes to the family of Roy Duenke. May God give the family comfort to endure these difficult days ahead. At Isaiah 61:1 God promises he will bind up the brokenhearted and comfort all who mourn.
