William Meyer Obituary

William "Bill" George Meyer, 88, Owensville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, at his residence.

He was born June 28, 1934, to Julius and Hilda (Bartel) Meyer, in Gerald. Bill was united in marriage to Beverly Koch, May 27, 1961, in Owensville.

He enjoyed sports, especially watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge 624 and Order of Eastern Star. He was a member of St. Paul's UCC Church of Gerald.

His survivors include his son, Tracey Meyer and wife Shelly, Owensville; daughter, Stacey Teller and husband John, Gasconade; sisters, Joyce Farrell and husband Ray, and Bonnie Ehlers, all of Gerald; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Hilda Meyer; his wife, Beverly Meyer; sisters, Doris LeClaire and Ruth Meyer; and brother-in-law, Ray Ehlers.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel, Owensville. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., with Pastor Ronnie Koppelmann officiating.

Bill's body was cremated, and his ashes will be buried next to his wife at Owensville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be given for family choice.

Arrangements are in care of Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel, Owensville.
