Howard Kretzer Obituary

Howard F. Kretzer, Jr.

A great and gentle man finished his work here on earth, June 27, 2018. Our Rocket Man is on a new mission to spread love and cheer above. His contributions to science and technology were only dwarfed by his powers of love, spirit and kindness.

Howard was born in Pittsburgh PA in 1934. After graduating from Ohio University, Howard enjoyed a rewarding electrical engineering career spanning from Cape Kennedy FL and the Apollo 11 moon landing, to computer chip design at IBM Essex Jct VT. Upon retirement Howard and Gladys enjoyed traveling the world, and spending time with wonderful friends and family across the country including their homes in Englewood and Venice FL and in Williston VT.

Howard regrets to depart before his loving wife of 65 years, Gladys Kretzer. He also leaves a rich legacy of family and friends who he loved dearly. Two children, son, Kenneth Kretzer and his wife, Kathleen Kretzer of Huntington Vermont; daughter, Kathryn Couillard and husband, Daniel Couillard of Colchester Vermont, six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Sr and Alice Kretzer of Melbourne Florida; his sister, Janet Blish of Melbourne Florida; and brother, Robert Kretzer of Webster New York.

"Any job worth doing is worth doing right." Mission accomplished!

At Howard's request there will be no services. For those who desire to, contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital or the VNA Respite House in Colchester VT https://www.vnacares.org/donating-to-vna/make-an-online-donation/. Their compassionate care of Howard will always be remembered and appreciated by his family.

Kenny,
I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. Stay strong my old friend. Seems like yesterday we were hanging out in Lamplight acres. I'll keep you in my thoughts..
