Janice Dilloian Obituary

Janice Marie Dilloian, 81, of Florence, South Carolina, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 after a long illness.

Janice was born July 31, 1936 to Ceasar Vola and Dorothy Rogers Vola and was a native of Belmar, New Jersey. She attended Belmar primary school and graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1954. While in High School, she was the Captain of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad and was a Student Assistant to the High School Athletic Director, where she met and fell in love with her husband, Paul H. Dilloian. They married September 8, 1956 and lived in Neptune, New Jersey where they raised their three children, Gregory (Ramona) Dilloian, Kathleen (Michael) Rathier, and Michael (Susan) Dilloian, until they retired to Venice, Florida in 1997. In 2017 she and her husband moved to Florence, South Carolina to be closer to her children and grandchildren.Janice was a stay at home mom for many years and later began working, most notably, as a substitute secretary for the Neptune Township School System for a number of years. She was a loving wife and mother, Girl Scout leader, Neptune Girls Rec. softball coach, supporter and active member of the Neptune High School Red and Black Booster Club and a faithful parishioner of Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Neptune.She enjoyed sewing, knitting, golf and all things "retirement". Her greatest joy was her family and her presence in their lives and those who knew her will be greatly missed. Janicer is survived by her loving husband, Paul Horan Dilloian; her three children; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Virginia Morton. Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home, 2nd Loop Rd., Florence, SC 29501. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., just prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Florence National Cemetery, Florence SC.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amedisys Hospice in Florence, SC.
