David Howard Obituary
October 24, 1958 - July 13, 2025
David Jon Howard transitioned to his heavenly home on July 13th at the age of 66.
A Warrant Officer in the U.S Army, David served for 19 years, including during Desert Storm. He flew missions in the Panama Canal Zone and supported congressional visits to the Jonestown tragedy in Guyana. He worked for Exxon for 11 years and then as a respected flight instructor for 13 years at Fort Rucker.
David was highly intelligent, able to fix almost anything and had a lifelong passion for aviation and ham radio. He was active in state and local politics serving as an Alabama GOP State Executive Committeeman for Dale County.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Virginia Howard; daughter Dotti Davidson; son, Ben Burns (Angel), and his grandchildren, Dayna and Jeb Burns.
A memorial service will be held at New Tabernacle Church, Ariton, AL on July 26th at 2 p.m.
