My deepest condolences on the passing of Stan. A great man, a great soldier, and a great friend. My best memories of the army include times and places with him. Farewell, friend. For identification, turn right and ident.

Stan and I clowning around at a party in Burghaun, Germany, 1979. It's the way I'll always remember Stan.

Christa and I offer our sincere condolences to Karen and the rest of Stan's family. Through flight school and then our first assignments together in the 11th ACR, Stan was a good friend and trusted colleague. Our careers led in different directions after that assignment but, after reading remarks by others here, it's clear he remained the happy, helpful, and caring guy Christa and I remember so well. My guess is he's still proudly wearing his wings...they're just a lot bigger now!
Rest in peace, friend!

Mr Kennedy was one of the nicest people I encountered during my time in F Company 160th. He was a genuine true American. We had a running joke about when he was going to take me flying for some training. He will surely be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of a great American. Stan was my instructor pilot at Fort Ord back in the mid 80's. My favorite memory was he was giving me a checkride under night vision goggles and we inadvertently entered the clouds. Stan talked me through the correct procedures while I flew white knuckled on our paltry OH-58A instruments. We eventually came out “on top” and could have diverted to a civilian airfield that was clear. But Stan had already requested an approach into the airfield at Fort Ord, and told me he did not want to waste the opportunity for me to do an actual instrument approach. So we flew around on top until the approach, punched back in, and then broke out again right at minimums. Not exactly “by the book”, but Stan was right. That was probably the best “inadvertent IMC” training I’ve ever received; before or since. God Bless him and his family.

Dear Karen,
Needless to say, I am deeply saddened after hearing this news. Although we have placed many years behind our times together, those times will never be forgotten.
From the days at Deer Park Estates in flight school, on to Fulda and Campbell, timeless memories will remain with us all.
Please pass along my most sincere sympathies to the rest of your family.
As Joe so elequently stated, Stan will rest in peace with our Heavenly Father, the rest of us will live on for the time being with the memories of knowing a good man.
May Almighty God Be With You,
Ron

Dear Karen,
My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family as you mourn the loss of Stan. I served with Stan for many years in the 160th and spent a couple of deployments with him floating on a barge in the middle of the Persian Gulf. Stan made sure that the "Little Birds" we were flying were always ready to perform their mission. I never had to worry about my aircraft when Stan was looking after them. Stan was one of the best maintenance officers to have ever served with the NightStalkers. I am deeply saddened by his passing, but we all can take solace in the fact that he is resting with our Savior. May God bless you and your family.
With Deepest Regards,
Joseph Guido The Icepick Calabrace

I was saddened to hear of Stan's passing. I hope he did not suffer. I knew Stan from early in my career as a Nightstalker and can say his contributions to our great nation go beyond just training new pilots. My sympathy goes to the family as you grieve. Stan was a great man. NSDQ

Our deepest sympathies to Karen, Michael, Jason and Haley, Laura, Linda, and all family and friends. Stan was a true American patriot in a long line of patriots. More than that, Stan was just a good and decent man. I'm so glad we got to see him at the Kennedy reunion. It was the first time since we graduated in 1969.
God bless you all.

Karen, We know Stan is in a better place and at peace without pain now but your hearts are broken. We have you, Mike, Jason, and the rest of the family in our prayers for God's peace and comfort. We will always remember Stan as a good friend but also as "The Corvette King". We never see a Corvette without thinking of him. He was a friend and fellow Night Stalker to many who admired and cared about him. We know he'll enjoy his celebration of life you are having and is looking down from Heaven smiling. God bless each and every one of you!
