Joshua Floyd Obituary

Joshua Morgan Floyd, 30, entered his eternal rest on Nov. 12, 2014, at his home in Palmer, Alaska. A memorial Open House will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at 19701 Driftwood Bay Drive in Eagle River, Alaska. Josh was born on Oct. 30, 1984, in Logan, Utah, to James "Willie" Floyd and Alice "Gail" Ruediger. He attended Utah College of Massage Therapy, where he met his future wife, graduating in 2004. He married Angela Roundy in a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas, Nev., on Feb. 19, 2005. In November, the couple moved to Angie native home in the Flathead Valley of Montana, where Josh enjoyed employment as a carpenter and lived the dream of a cabin in the woods. In November 2009, Josh moved with his wife to live in Alaska to enjoy hunting and fishing with his in-laws. They were then sealed for time and eternity in the Alaska Anchorage Temple on Feb. 19, 2010. Josh enjoyed his job at Osborne Construction, where he got to drive Tonka Trucks all day. Josh loved fishing no matter the season and often was the "winner of the day" for his rare catching of starfish, sunfish, skate and even a giant octopus and a king salmon. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and gazing at the stars. He loved to learn about the planet, its people and its animals. Josh was an avid and accomplished gamer on the Playstation, Xbox and computer. He was strong yet a gentle soul. He was kind hearted, great listener and above all patient. A true free spirit, and was a great uncle. Josh is survived by his wife, Angie; mother, Gail Floyd; and seven siblings. In lieu of flowers, please mail Memorial donations to 725 Cascade Crt. Palmer Alaska 99645.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Josh's family. He was such a wonderful person and words can't express how much he will be missed. I worked with Josh at Osborne and he is going to be truly missed. Every time I saw him, he had a winning smile ready to for us. He always had such a good sense of humor and he loved the "Tonkas" he operated so smoothly.
Sincerely,
Nicole Harper and Jack Smodey
