Terje Arve Klevdal

1926 - 2017

Terry Klevdal was born on September 29, 1926 in Bergen Norway to Signe Mikkelsen and Ludvig Klevdal. Terry married Esther (Johannessen) on March 17, 1951, and they moved to the United States in 1953. After spending a brief time in Minneapolis, MN, they settled in Longmont in 1953. They raised two sons, Glenn and Stein, moving to a home they built in the mountains in 1973. Terry enjoyed sailing, skiing, and taking long walks in the mountains with his dogs. He also had a great passion and gift for music - playing piano, string base and accordion. Shortly after coming to this country, Terry became an American citizen, and was very proud of and grateful for this country, and the opportunities and freedoms he enjoyed here. What was most important to Terry, however, was the commitment he made when he placed his faith in Jesus Christ at age 40. Terry was able to live in his beloved mountain home until the final week of his life. He passed away on September 13, 2017. Terry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Esther, his son Glenn and daughter-in-law Porfidia of Pasadena, CA, his son Stein and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Niwot, CO, his granddaughter Jordan, and grandson Christian. In Norway, Terry is survived by his sister Turid Nielsen and her family. A memorial service is planned for 11:00 Friday, September 29, 2017, at the Ponder chapel at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, CO.
