Adam Linebach Obituary

Adam Linebach, Jr., age 74, of Erie, was born in Mondsee, Austria on July 30, 1946. In 1952, he immigrated to the United States, traveling through Ellis Island staying in New York City for a short time before settling in the Erie area with the help of the Catholic relief agency. He was six years old at the time. He was accompanied by this parents, Adam and Ann Linebach, both deceased, his older sister, Anne Linebach, the "Peanut Lady" deceased, and an older brother, Josef Linebach.

Adam passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 from complications when he suffered a stroke three weeks prior on February 8, 2021.

Adam is survived by his older brother, Josef Linebach and his wife Glory, and their daughter, Claudette; as well as four nephews, Joseph and Thomas Linebach, both of Florida, and Eric and Mark Linebach, both of Erie; a special niece and goddaughter, Lisa Linebach Lochbaum; and numerous cousins.

In addition to his parents and sister, Adam was preceded in death by one nephew, Michael Linebach.

Adam was a lifelong bachelor. He graduated from Academy High School 1965, where he excelled in football and participated in the All Star, Save-An-Eye Game. Adam was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War in the Fourth US Army. He served from 1965 through 1969. Adam attained the rank of SP5 and was Honorably Discharged. Medals he earned included NDSM and GCM. He returned to the Erie area after his service was completed.

Adam worked for the United States Postal Service for over 35 years before he retired. He received many accommodations for his outstanding performance. Adam enjoyed watching all types of sports, especially watching the Cleveland Browns. He would help the Peanut Lady set up her booth during all the festivals held in downtown Erie.

Adam was a good, kind soul and will be missed by all that knew him.
