Albert Dean Obituary

Albert “Al” V. Dean Albert “Al” V. Dean, age 89, of Lawrence Park Twp., died Tuesday, August 23, 2005. He was born in Denora, Pa. on September 17, 1915, son of the late John Albert and Hazel Latimer Dean. He had resided in Erie since 1925. He was a member of South Harborcreek United Methodist Church. He was employed with General Electric Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century, the G.E. Retired Employees Assn., American Legion Carl Neff Post 571 and the Legion Ceremonial Firing Squad and the VFW Post in North East. Al was a pilot and enjoyed flying. He was also a musician and played in many places in the Erie area. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served in the South Pacific in WWII. He is survived by his wife of 50 years of marriage this September 3rd, Patricia A. Dean; two daughters, AlBerta Phanco of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and Patricia A. Davis and husband William of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sons, Charles A. Dean and wife Brenda of Erie, Douglas J. Dean and wife Denise of Johnstown, Pa. and James E. Dean and wife Johna of Oldmar, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth McIntosh of Springhill, Fla. and Caroline Sargent of Bradenton, Fla; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a funeral service there Monday at 10 a.m. followed by a full military service graveside by the Wesleyville American Legion Post 571 Honor Guard. A Legion Service will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. To send condolences, visit www.icgerie.com.
