Allison Al Lee Applebee

Allison "Al" Lee Applebee, 73, of Clymer, New York, passed away September 26, 2013 at Warren General Hospital, Warren, Pennsylvania.

He was born March 22, 1940, the son of the late John and Marie Munsee Applebee.

Al was a member of the Cutting Community Church, the Southern Tier Coon Hunters and the Broken Straw Coon Hunters. Al loved coon and coyote hunting. He loved to spend time at Country Fair in Corry visiting friends, and had a special friend, Jim, whom he always took to WalMart for his grocery shopping. He also loved to spend time at the Union City Auction Barn and the Sherman Auction Barn every Tuesday and Thursday to have lunch and visit. Al loved his horse, Molly; he just sold her two weeks ago; it broke his heart. He loved to help organize Saddle Up for St. Jude for the last few years at the Sherman sale barn.

He is survived by his wife, Verla Kimmy Applebee, whom he married June 11, 1960; his children, Dale (Cindy) Applebee, Debbra Legters and L.D. Ablright, Bud (Traci) Applebee; grandchildren, Bill (Denise) Applebee, Christopher (Jeness) Legters, Jeffrey (Lissa) Legters, Brittany Legters (Josue Munoz), Jessica (Benny) Garcia; step-grandchildren, Halie (Logan) Riggs, Ark., Billie Wood, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Rachel and Wyatt Applebee, Mason Munoz, Calif., Isabell Garcia, Tenlee Legters; brothers, Richard (Dot) Applebee, Rod Williams; sisters, Lucille (Ed) Kahl, Jerry (Allan) Fox, Darlene Applebee MacCray; brothers-in-law, Dennis Kimmy, James (Tammy) Kimmy, Thomas Kimmy; sisters-in-law, Audrey Pregler, June Williams, Ruth Williams, Carol Kimmy; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell Applebee, Bill and Merle Williams; niece, Carolyn Williams; nephews, Jeffry and John Engstrom, Edward and Billie Kimmy; brothers-in-law, Lawrence, Gary, Phillip Kimmy, and Russell MacCray; father-in-law, Veo (Alice Boam) Kimmy.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cutting Community Church, with Pastor Rick Maas, officiating. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Clymer, New York.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cutting Community Church, Clymer, New York.
