Blanca Iris Rivera

Blanca Iris Rivera Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother Blanca Iris Rivera, age 67, of Erie, passed away Friday, October 13, 2006, at Saint Vincent Health Center. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on September 5, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Francisco and Eloisa (Mendenz) Rivera. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, cooking for everybody and family functions. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Ismael L. Rivera; four sons, Ismael Rivera, Jr., Carlos Rivera, wife Amy, Jose Rivera, wife Karen, and Eliezer Rivera, wife Kelly, all of Erie; a daughter, Maritza Rivera of Erie; four grandsons, three granddaughters; three brothers, Jesus, Reynaldo, and Ventura Batista; four sisters, Doris, Haydec, Adelaida and Carmin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Juan and Jose Batista. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard. Services will be held there Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr.
