Cecilia Mae Gorney

Cecilia Mae (Fitzgerald) Gorney, 87, of Erie, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2011, 2010, at the Millcreek Community Hospital. She was born in Union City, Pa. on September 11th, 1923 a daughter of the late Martin and Minerva (Dowse) Fitzgerald. Before her retirement, she worked for Erie Sand and Gravel. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alexander "Corky" Gorney, who died on November 27, 2006 and also by five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Leona Fitzgerald, nephew, Stephen Fitzgerald and his wife, Jeanne, nieces, Patricia Stark and her husband, Dennis, Kathleen Crotty and her husband, Timothy. Nephew, Lee Rodge Donatelli and her niece, Kathleen Clark and her husband, Dave and many other nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Francis V.
