Charles Barnes Obituary
Charles was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. He was an employee of Gannon University, National Fuel Gas and was a retiree of General Electric. He was often seen with his lifelong friend, Oscar "Buchie" Johnson. He spent countless hours with his children and grandchildren. Charles was a die-hard New York Jets and Los Angeles Lakers fan. He was very kind and will be missed.
In addition to his mother, Charles leaves to cherish, his former wife, Rosemary Dance-Barnes; nine children, Daryl, Jamaal, Charles Jr., Shytaya, Shatorya, Charles II, Rasean, Jayden and Eurasia; 26 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was the middle brother of Michael, George, Keith and the late Johnnie D. Barnes, Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 536 West 10th Street, on Saturday from 12 noon to 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Harry Euell. Memorial donations may be designated to the family through the funeral home.

I had hoped to see u while in Erie, but just didn't find the right time. But know that you are on my mind Barnes family, and this tragic, unimaginable loss to us all.

I worked right alongside Scooter for a few years in Bldg. 17 at Erie GE. We shared the same job, we about the same age and got to know one another very well. I found him to be a truly likable guy who enjoyed life. We talked basketball almost every day. He taught me so many things about life and I've always been thankful for that. I ran into him at Dee's Cigar Store while stopping for a paper a few years ago, and we caught up on things. What an wonderful guy. My sincere sympathies to his family, especially to his brother George who I also worked with at Erie GE. May he rest in peace.
