Charles Steinmetz Obituary
Pete was born on February 21st, 1943, in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Charles Harry Steinmetz and the late Mary Jo Pratt Steinmetz.
Pete attended Kemper Military Academy and graduated from Officer's Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served his country proudly and with honor as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in Vietnam.
He spent many years working in the automotive industry and retired from Qualsystems, Inc. Pete volunteered with Hope on Horseback, where his daughter had been a client for many years. Pete's true joy was his children.
He is survived by his beloved children, daughter Tiffany Elizabeth Steinmetz of Erie and son Andrew Peter Steinmetz (Aurora Braun Steinmetz) of Erie, and sister Mary Steinmetz Cassidy (Tom Cassidy) of South Carolina.
Friends are invited to call at Burton Funeral Home, 602 West 10th Street, Erie, Pa., on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with military honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hope on Horseback, 8342 Platz Road, Fairview, PA 16415.

I am so sorry to see of Pete's passing. Pete was a good friend and was a wonderful father loving his kids so very much. I met Pete thru Therapeutic Horseback riding where Tiffany was a rider. We became friends and had many great times together. Rest in Peace you did a great job here on earth. Love ya Anne Randazzo Durkin
