Daniel H. Burt

Daniel H. Burt, age 87, of Millcreek Township, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born in Oswego, N.Y., on March 8, 1928, a son of the late Arthur G. and Alice (Germain) Burt.

He served with the U.S. Army in Japan during WWII. Dan graduated from Gannon College in 1952 and attained the rank of Second Lieutenant, serving in the Korean Conflict. He had been the owner of Plack and Crandall Ford on Rt. 99 along with John Dylewski and Joseph Healy. Later, he worked as the Corporate Fleet Supervisor at Erie Insurance Group retiring in 1996.

Dan raised his family in McKean, where he was on the building committee of St. Francis Xavier Church. He was a life member of the Erie Maennerchor and St. Francis Ushers Clubs. Dan especially enjoyed his camp on Little Sodus Bay in Fairhaven, N.Y.

Besides his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy (Plack) Burt.

Survivors include his wife Frances (Burgoyne) Burt; one son, William Burt, wife Janna, of Edinboro, and their family; Andrew Burt, Ellen (Brian) Ross, and Aaron Burt; three daughters; Barbara (Dave) Danylko, of Waterford, and their family; Nicole Danylko, Seth (Suzie) Danylko Mackenzie and Hannah Danylko; Ann (Glenn) Ebert of Erie and their family; Matt (Kari) Rosario and Joseph Rosario; Mary Alice (Tim) Stewart of Cochranton and their family; Maura, Katie and Daniel Stewart; and one brother; Marlow G. Burt, wife Cathy, of Dexter, N.Y.

Friends are invited to call at the Brugger Funeral Home & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd., on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Francis Xavier Church in McKean at 11 a.m. Interment will follow with full Military Honors in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
