Daniel Dylewski Obituary
Daniel Kenworth Dylewski, 26, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly, on February 27, 2017, at his residence.
He was an avid hockey player who began skating at four years old. He played for Erie Youth Hockey where he served as a captain and also played hockey for McDowell High School. His many hockey achievements were the results of his coaches, Gary Peterson and Randy Faipler, whom he sadly missed. As a small child he had a fascination with the mechanics of automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles.
As he grew into a loving and caring young man, his interests in auto mechanics continued. He became an excellent auto technician and was loved by all of his customers. He obtained his class A CDL license in 2016. He loved driving the "Big Rigs."
He loved his Greenbay Packers and was part owner of his team. He enjoyed attending shareholder meetings and walking onto Lambeau Field. He was loved by everyone he met. His smile could light up the room.
He was preceded in death by his paternal family and coworkers, his grandparents, Thomas L. and Dorothy H. Dylewski, uncle, Charles Dylewski and aunt, Karen Dylewski, and his three great-uncles, Casmire (Mike), Joseph, and Walter Dylewski, and also his uncle, Harry Staszewski.
Survivors include his parents, Mark and Mary Beth Dylewski of Erie, his sister, Jaclyn Dylewski Lachimia (Michael) and his niece, Caylee Rose of Los Angeles, California. He is also survived by his girlfriend and constant companion, Krista Foor of Erie, his uncle and good friend, Thomas N. Dylewski (Sherry) and cousins, Tommy and Anna of Erie, and aunt and godmother, Annette Spindle (Dave) of Huntsville, Ala. Survivors also include his maternal grandparents, Faye and Jerry Maras of Erie, aunt, Jan Staszewski and cousins, Jil and Jared of Erie, uncle, Gary Maras (Val Jackson) of Fairview, aunt, Veronica Maras of North Carolina, and cousins, Abby, Ed, Alicia, and Jess, Bob Maras (Anna) of Pittsburgh and cousins, Laura, Bob, and Rachael, aunt, Kathy Gabbard (Ken), his godfather, of Erie, and cousins, Shanna and Ken. In addition, his "grandparents," Jack and Kathy Ciecierski and Jeffrey, Jay, Jimmy also survive.
If you met Dan, you loved Dan. He will be sadly missed. Gone too soon.
Relatives and friends are invited Friday, March 3, 2017 at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Saint George Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Road, Erie, PA 16506. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Edward J. I didn't know Danny personally but he inspect my car. I can tell you he was friendly and professional which is unusual for someone so young.

I grew up playing travel hockey with Danny. We lost touch when I moved to a different city 8 years ago. He was one of my favorite people to play hockey with. Always one of the most talented players on the team and the nicest person you could imagine in the locker room. I remember always being excited when the coach would put me on his line. Dan made everyone a better person on and off the ice. Thoughts and prayers to Mark, Marybeth, and family...I am so sorry.
