This breaks my heart!
One of the coolest and funniest teacher I had the privilege to know and be taught by. Mr. Darren Cook was loved by all the students & staffs. He helped me out so much especially during my hard times. He was such a good listener and always knew what to say to make your day brighter/ smile each day. If there wasn’t a smile on my face; he would make sure I leave with a smile... He really cared about you individually. You could always count on him. His sense of humor was very unique. It was the only teacher that teased and played around with me lot and I would never mind b/c he was just too amazing and funny. Mr.Cook always respected me. He is so strong and made CSE a place you will always remember- unforgettable memories. He made so much impacts in so many people and was admired by everyone that knew him. I have never seen someone with so much energy and positive vibes and such a hard working person like Mr.Cook. Sending love & hugs to the Cook’s family. Keeping you all in my thoughts & prayers. You are missed truly.

I went to High School with Darren. He was a great person. Although after graduating we did not see each other much from time to time we would see each other and remember the times we had in school and talk about what we were doing in life. A great man gone to soon.

Darren was such a fun and vibrant person to work with at EFCA! I enjoyed every moment that we taught together. He always brought light and excitement to his lessons and the light of Christ to his students. I will never forget his days where he dressed up in costume as part of a lesson or a fun school spirit day. His creative soul and spirit will be missed on this earth but is already celebrated in the next as he rejoices in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. My heart is heavy for the loss of his beloved wife and children, as I know they were everything to him. May the loving arms of our Lord surround you all during this time and continually as you walk through this together.

I remember ministering with Darren at Erie First Christian Academy. His passion for high school English and his students was evident. His love for God was demonstrated in his desire to see students experience the fullness of what God had planned for them through written expressions. It is evident that he touched so many. May he honor God with his legacy!
